Procore's Daily Log Agent: What It Drafts and What It Still Needs From the Field

Procore's Daily Log Agent drafts a daily log from the photos, notes, emails, voice notes and audio that get added to Procore, then a person reviews and finalizes it (Procore: AI Daily Log Agent). That can save typing for the superintendent. What it cannot do is draft from information nobody sent. On a job with several subs, the hard part of the daily report is still getting headcount, hours, work by location and delays from every foreman, every day.

Procore's Groundbreak conference runs October 20 to 22, 2026 in Orlando, and AI agents are the headline (Construction Owners preview). If your team is weighing the Daily Log Agent, this guide covers what Procore says it does, what it depends on from the field, and the questions to ask before you count on it.

What Procore says the Daily Log Agent does

Based on Procore's own pages:

  • Drafts from field media. It converts photos, videos, notes and audio files into structured daily log entries (Procore).
  • Pulls from several sources. Procore's May 2026 announcement says it aggregates photos, emails and voice notes to draft daily logs inside Procore (Procore press release).
  • Requires a person to sign off. Procore says agents need human consent before actions are finalized, and the daily log draft is for final human verification.
  • Comes in agent packages. Procore AI is sold in packages managed by account admins, and the Daily Log agent is listed among the Starter agents (Means and Methods Lab field guide). Availability and pricing depend on your account, so confirm with Procore.

What any drafting agent needs from the field

An agent organizes input. It does not see the jobsite. The draft is only as complete as what the superintendents and foremen send in that day. For each company on site, a usable daily record needs:

  1. Crew count and hours for that company.
  2. Work performed, with a location (level, area, gridline or unit).
  3. Delays and what caused them, including waiting on another trade, an inspection or material.
  4. Deliveries and inspections that happened or did not.
  5. Safety items, including near misses and corrective actions.
  6. Photos tied to the work and the location.

If a foreman sends a photo with no caption, the agent has a picture and no headcount. If a sub sends nothing, that sub is a blank. That is where daily logs fall apart today, with or without an agent.

Where the gaps usually come from

  • Subs who never open the app. Many foremen will not download and log into another platform for every general contractor they work for. Their day often lives in a text thread with the superintendent.
  • Input that arrives too late. A voice note sent at 9 PM may miss the draft the superintendent reviews at 5 PM.
  • Missing versus no work. A sub that did not report and a sub that reported no work look the same in a blank section. The draft needs to show the difference.
  • Someone still reviews every draft. A person reads it, checks it against what they saw and fills in what is missing. If the inputs are thin, review turns into rewriting.

Questions to ask before you rely on it

  1. Which inputs does the agent read on our account: photos, notes, emails, voice notes, audio, video?
  2. How does each sub's information reach Procore? Do subs need logins?
  3. When a sub sends nothing, does the draft flag that sub as missing?
  4. Is the original photo, note or recording kept with each entry, with timestamps?
  5. Who reviews the draft, and how long does that take on a busy day?
  6. Which agent package includes the Daily Log Agent for us, and what does it cost at our volume?
  7. Can we export the finalized logs if we change systems later?

A simple routine that helps any daily log tool

Whatever drafts the report, the same habit makes it better: each foreman sends the six items above before leaving the site, in one message. Superintendents and foremen already text, so make the text the input. Some general contractors keep Procore for project management and capture the daily report itself by text from every sub. For more on getting subs to send that message, see how to get subcontractors to submit daily reports, and for how the two platforms compare, see Raken vs Procore daily log.

Checklist: is your field input ready for an agent?

  • Every sub on site has a way to send their day without a new login
  • Each foreman sends crew count and hours, work by location, delays, deliveries and inspections, safety items and photos
  • Input arrives before the superintendent reviews the day
  • Missing subs are flagged so someone follows up the same day
  • The original message or photo stays attached to each entry
  • Someone owns the final review every day

How Cascade fits

Cascade starts with the input. Superintendents and foremen text their day, and Cascade uses AI to turn those texts into a structured daily report, with automatic sub reminders when a company has not sent anything. Subcontractor access is free, so subs do not need a paid seat or a new app. Teams using Cascade reach 95%+ sub daily report compliance. At Venture General Contracting LLC, sub daily report compliance went from about 50% to 96%+.

Cascade covers daily reports, manpower and hours by sub, photos, toolbox talks, pre-task plans (JHA), safety incidents and corrective actions, project + schedule planning, automatic sub reminders, analytics, plain-English answers and a free owner portal.

Will beat Procore's prices, guaranteed. Onboarding and integration are free, and the general contractor plan starts with a one-month pilot with no contract lock-in. Frequently asked questions

What does Procore's Daily Log Agent do?

Procore describes it as an agent that turns field photos, notes, emails, voice notes and audio files added to Procore into a draft daily log, organized into log sections. A person reviews and finalizes the draft before it becomes the record.

Does the Daily Log Agent replace the superintendent's daily report?

No. Procore says the agent drafts logs for human verification. The superintendent still reviews the draft, fixes what is wrong and fills in what nobody sent.

What happens if a sub never sends anything?

Any drafting tool can only work with the input that reaches it. If a sub sends no headcount, hours or notes, there is nothing to draft for that sub. Check whether the draft shows that sub as missing so the superintendent can follow up.

Do subcontractors need Procore accounts for the agent to include their work?

Ask Procore how sub input reaches the agent on your account, whether through sub logins, emails or uploads by your own staff. The answer decides how much of each sub's day ends up in the draft.
