How to text a daily report
Last updated:
To send a daily report with Cascade, text your day to your job's Cascade number in plain words: who was on site, hours, what got done, any delays or safety notes, and photos. Cascade builds the daily report and texts back if something is missing. There is no form to fill out and no app to open.
What to include
- Crew: your company and how many workers were on site.
- Hours: regular hours, and overtime if any.
- Work performed: what you did and where (level, area, gridline).
- Delays and issues: anything that held you up and why.
- Safety: toolbox talk topic, incidents or near misses.
- Photos: attach them in the same text thread.
Example text
"Northside Electric, 6 guys, 8 hrs. Pulled wire L2 east corridor, set boxes units 201 to 208. Waiting on ceiling grid in 210, couldn't start. Toolbox talk on ladder safety. 3 photos attached."
That one text becomes a daily report entry with manpower, hours, work performed, a delay note and the photos, tied to the right job and the right day.
Tips from the field
- Send it before you leave the site. Short is fine.
- Name the area. "L2 east corridor" beats "upstairs."
- Say why on delays: what you waited on and who you were waiting for.
- Send photos of anything that will be covered up.
